and Germany, Belgium and Victoria too. But first let me tell you about Cuba.
Mario Franco, a local Westport musician is working with a charitable organization to send containers to help victims from Hurricane Sandy in Cuba. A large part of eastern Cuba was devastated by Sandy. Santiago and surrounding cities were badly damaged leaving residents without food, water, shelter. The Dubois Foundation has been helping Cuba and other countries hurt by hurricanes, you can read more about the charity on their website, www.duboischaritablefoundation.com
Our little town of Westport pulled together as a result of Mario Franco and Donna Larocques work. The Salmon House acted as a drop off zone. Store owners, Mike Cochrane from The Salmon House, Susan from Sundari Spa, Tanya Lemcke a Century 21 realestate agent and many residents contributed clothing, cleaning supplies and of course lots of soap from Bell Soap. Donna picked up from Westport this week and delivered to the drop off zone in Kingston. The container is planned to be shipped by the end of December. We all hope our small contributions will make a difference.
So my soap will be used as far away as Cuba this season. Oh yeah and Germany, Belgium, Victoria and Halifax too. I had customers purchase soap as gifts for their Christmas travels to these places. There will be Bell Soap suds across Canada and parts of Europe too!!
